The 9th annual Whalefest took place on the Monterey wharf over the weekend. Whalefest is an educational event that utilizes a giant whale skeleton along with an inflatable digestive tract that allows people to learn about whales from the inside out. The festival also features vatious marine experts that share information on different marine life and ecosystems. This years event focused on the importance of the role of recycling on cleaning up the oceans.
