A man was arrested after leading law enforcement officers on a high speed chase this afternoon. The chase started on Highway 101 southbound when officers tried to stop a vehicle after they saw items being dumped out the window. The driver fled from officers, speeding to Salinas and then heading back to Prunedale, onto Salinas Road and Highway 1 northbound. From there the driver exited onto Riverside Drive in Watsonville, and finally stopped the car a short time later on Rodriguez Street.
