Just 2 months after Measure M failed by 62%, Santa Cruz City Council members plan to look at a newly proposed Just-Cause Eviction Ordinance when they meet tonight. If approved tonight (and during a future 2nd reading) by a majority of city council members (3 of which are new) the city would temporarily resurrect the recently expired Just-Cause Eviction Rules….that were in place from last February through December 11th. If approved, the new Temporary Ordinance would be retro-active to December 11th. This evening’s Santa Cruz City Council meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in Santa Cruz City Hall, which is located at 809 Center Street.
