A 21-year-old inmate who escaped San Quentin State Prison was recaptured Saturday after a witness called in a tip that Shalom Mendoza was at a Taco Bell in Paso Robles.
He was taken into custody without an incident and taken to Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad. He faces a variety of charges related to the escape and carjacking.
