It looks like abalone divers will have to wait another two years before getting wet. Yesterday, the State Fish And Game Commission decided to keep California Recreational Abalone fishing closed through April 2021. The decision is based on low density surveys of abalone. American Abalone Farms in Davenport grows and produces much of the abalone in the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Area, and has increased production in anticipation of the ban.
