A man accused of killing a robber at a Watsonville pot grow in June was charged with murder this week.
Eli Gutierrez, 26, was charged on Wednesday — five months after 32-year-old Dominic Quintana was shot dead. Charges include murder with a firearm and possession of an illegal assault weapon.
Two men — Quintana and 50-year-old Louis Ledesma of Watsonville — were suspected of stealing cash and marijuana from the pot shop
Quintana was struck multiple times and died at the scene.
Ledesma faces three charges of first-degree residential robbery, attempted murder of a police officer, first-degree burglary and assault with a firearm. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in July.
