Tomorrow, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors will consider a proposal by Supervisor Luis Alejo to make Monterey County the first county in California and the nation to recognize that every person has the right to safe drinking water.
The Monterey County Health Department said it will propose the policy and the Board of Supervisors will consider approving it at Tuesday’s meeting.
The policy would require all Monterey County departments to consider the effect on drinking water of the actions they take.
