Salinas police have arrested a man who attempted to evade officers. On Friday afternoon a patrol unit initiated a traffic code violation stop. The driver, known gang member, 21 year old Jose Torres fled the area and a pursuit ensued until it was ended over safety concerns. A task force arrested Torres on Saturday and booked him into Monterey County Jail.
