Santa Cruz County now has its own Cal Star base. The service will be based 24- 7 at the Watsonville airport. Cal Star will deploy an Airbus EC 135 helicopter that is medically-configured and equipped with the latest in air technology and safety features. It also has instrument approach capabilities that will allow transports to and from medical facilities during cloudy and foggy weather.
