A man, who was recently extradited from Mexico (for his possible involvement on a 2004 murder case in Watsonville), pleaded Not Guilty in a Santa Cruz county court room today. 32 year-old Mario Alberto Lozano is accused of murdering 17 year-old Isaac Guzman, as Guzman waited for his father to pick him up on airport boulevard that December afternoon. Lozano is believed to have chased, knocked down, and repeatedly stabbed Guzman in what may have been a gang-motivated killing. Lozano’s bail is set at 5 million dollars. He has been charged with committing first degree murder, use of a deadly weapon, and participating in gang activities.
