A contaminated bagged salad mix, that reportedly sickened people in the mid-west, was sold to McDonald’s franchises there. The clear plastic packages of salad mix came from Salinas-based Fresh Express, but because they were sold to the franchise, and were not for retail, the contaminated packages do NOT have the Fresh Express label on them. Investigators are working to determine how the the Cyclospora got into the mix
