AN ARROWHEAD INTERAGENCY HOTSHOT FIRE CAPTAIN DIED THIS MORNING WHEN A TREE FELL ON HIM WHILE HE WAS FIGHTING THE FERGUSON FIRE NEAR YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK. ALTHOUGH 33 YEAR-OLD BRIAN HUGHES WAS TREATED ON THE SCENE, HE PASSED AWAY BEFORE HE COULD BE TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL. THE FERGUSON FIRE HAS BURNED MORE THAN 56-THOUSAND CARES AND IS NOW 30 PERCENT CONTAINED. AUTHORITIES EXPECT TO RE-OPEN THE YOSEMITE VALLEY BY 4 P-M FRIDAY.
