Caltrans has announced that State Route 1 at Mud Creek along the southern Big Sur Coast is scheduled to re-open on July 20th. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening will take place at the Ragged Point Inn at 11 am. The road has been closed since May of 2017 when a 50 acre mudslide took out a quarter mile section of roadway. The repairs are almost 2 months ahead of schedule.
