A man was arrested after he fired at a San Benito County Sheriff’s deputy during a car chase yesterday. A shelter in place order was given at about 11:40 a.m. when a driver fled as a deputy attempted a traffic stop. The driver then fired at the pursuing officer. Hollister police swarmed the area and Rafael Rojas was taken into custody following a standoff near Veterans Memorial Park. He was booked into jail for evading police, resisting arrest, and discharging a firearm in public.
