A new traveler center has been approved by the Salinas city council. Council members reportedly hope the center will bring more money and jobs to the city. The new travel station, which is expected to include a love’s gas station and a new Arby’s fast food restaurant, is slated to be constructed between the Salinas airport and highway 101. Developers says they would also like to construct an 80-room hotel, fueling stations and a mechanics building nearby.
