Although no one was injured, 69 people were displaced by a 2-alarm fire at the Torch Lite Inn in Santa Cruz early this morning. the structure fire, which was determined to have been caused by an electrical malfunction in the attic, was called in just after 2 a.m. After firefighters put out the blaze on the 500 block of Riverside Avenue, they escorted people back to their rooms to get their belongings. The Red Cross provided food and water, and assisted the occupants in finding alternate housing for the night.
