Salinas police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Friday night. Authorities say that a 21 year old male in a parked vehicle near the 400 block of Carol Drive was approached by several individuals. A physical altercation broke out and then the victim was fatally shot by at least one of the assailants. It is unclear at this time if the shooting was gang related.
