The summertime is a tough time for kids who are used to getting free meals at school, and a new service (being offered in Salinas) aims to resolve that problem. People with the organization “No Kid Hungry” have set things up so people can text “food” to 877-877, and be walked through a process so they can get information about locations and service times of up to 3 nearby summer meal sites.
