The passenger in a car involved in a 4-vehicle chain reaction crash on southbound Highway 101 this morning, was declared dead at the scene. The crash occurred just before 11 o’clock just south of the airport in Salinas. All lanes finally re-opened just before 1 p.m., although the traffic remained slow in that area for a while longer.
