The memorial for a local triathlete, race director, and advocate, is scheduled to take place later this month. 62 year-old Kem Akol, who took part in more than 30 Ironman Triathlons, and directed the sentinel triathlon in 2007, died march 26th. His memorial is now slated to take place from 11 a.m. Until 1 p.m. on A pril 27th. The event will be held at George Washington Grove….in Lower Delaveaga Park on Branciforte Drive in Santa Cruz. The service will be followed by a barbecue and bike ride, and attendees are encouraged to wear tie-die or bright colors, and to ride their bicycles.
