A Salinas man has pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter. 69 year-old Kenneth Donahue said he was driving west on Carmel Valley Road when he took his eyes off the road and didn’t see a car stop in front of him. When he looked up again, he swerved to avoid that vehicle, and hit a motorcyclist. That motorcyclist was former San Mateo Police Officer Michael Carnevale….who died from the injuries he suffered in that accident. Donahue is likely to be sentenced to spend 180 days in jail, and be ordered to do 50 hours of Community Service.
