(09:50) Santa Cruz – To celebrate Cesar Chavez Day and prepare for spring planting, the Homeless Garden Project is hosting a day of service on Saturday. The Homeless Garden Project is an agriculture program that provides job training for people who are experiencing homelessness and welcomes volunteers of all ages and abilities to work on the farm. Activities for volunteers include bed preparation for planting, building compost piles and weeding. The celebration is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Homeless Garden Project Farm on the Westside of Santa Cruz. For more information visit: homeless garden project dot org.
