Harbor Seal pupping season is underway on the Central Coast, and the marine mammal center has already rescued two pups in the past week. The pups, picked up in Moss Landing And San Luis Obispo were likely abandoned due to human interaction. Monterey bay operations manager Julia O’Hern says “If you can see the pup or you can see the harbor seal and she’s looking at you, you’re too close” in 2017 the Marine Mammal Center took in thirteen Harbor Seals, a number they hope to lower in 2018.
