(06:45) Santa Cruz County – A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by a Santa Cruz family, after their son was shot and killed by deputies in 2016. 15 year-old Luke Smith, of Aptos, was reportedly on LSD when he stabbed his uncle and father and advanced deputies with a wielding knife. The lawsuit lists several people along with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office and Capitola Police Department. The Sheriff’s Department released the body-cam footage and the deputy who shot Smith was cleared of any wrongdoing.
