A veteran Santa Cruz police officer has been promoted. Yesterday (Thurs) 17 year veteran officer Arnold Vasquez was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. During his career, Lieutenant Vasquez has served in a variety of assignments including patrol, investigations, the gang task force, the Emergency Services Unit and as a field training officer. Outside of work, Lieutenant Vasquez volunteers his time as a coach of youth sports.
