The community of Big Sur is now accessible to the motoring public. On Friday the new Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge was official opened. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the 24 million dollar project that reopened 35 miles of Highway 1 along the coastline to the Mud Creek slide. When Cal Trans finishes the Mud Creek area road repair toward the end of the 2018 summer Highway 1 will provide coastal access to the length of the state.
