(09:15) Watsonville – A man died in a car accident yesterday in Watsonville. The crash took place at 7:30 last night on Highway 152. CHP reported that the driver of a Toyota was traveling westbound at high rate of speed when it crossed the double yellow lines and side swiped a Volvo traveling eastbound. The Toyota continued westbound and struck a dirt embankment, became airborne and crashed into a utility pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Toyota was transferred to Natividad Medical Center for major injuries.
