Salinas police are investigating the city’s 24th homicide of the year. The shooting took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Bolivar Street where patrol units responded to reports of a shooting. At the scene officers located 49 year old Martin Rocha and a companion suffering from gunshot wounds. Rocha was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting is being investigated as gang related.
