(18:04)SALINAS- The Salinas Police Department will be using its Shot Spotter system to track and respond to celebratory gunfire this July 4. ShotSpotter utilizes a network of sensors to detect gunfire, calculate the location, and alert police. Even with ShotSpotter in use, the community is encouraged to report gunfire by calling 911.
