(06:40) Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter would like to offer the public safety tips for the upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend. Don’t take pets to fireworks displays. Do not leave pets in the car. Keep pets indoors in a sheltered, quiet area. Consult with a veterinarian before July 4th for ways to help alleviate the fear and anxiety. Never leave pets outside unattended, even in a fenced yard or on a chain.
Make sure pets are wearing identification tags.
