(08:15) Monterey – Authorities reported that 2 drivers were arrested in Monterey after they crashed into each other on Tuesday. The head-on traffic collision took place at 9:30 a.m. on the 100 block of Tide Street in Monterey. One of the drivers, 20 year-old John Mendoza, of Marina, ran away from the scene. Officers located Mendoza and charged him with felony driving under the influence of drugs, felony hit and run, and resisting arrest. The other driver of the vehicle, 19 year-old Emilee Johnston, of Monterey, was arrested for felony DUI.
