A new charter school may open next school year in Santa Cruz county. A spokesperson for the county office of education says the school would be for 17 – 24 year-old dropouts who have had a change of heart. The countywide charter would also serve folks who have been incarcerated, and want to get their high school diploma. The Santa Cruz County Board Of Education is expected to consider approving the new Santa Cruz County Career Advancement Charter School at it’s June 16th meeting.
