Neurosurgeon James Kohut made his first appearance in a Santa Cruz county court room this morning. He is accused of 14 child molestation charges. If convicted on all of the charges against him, Kohut could be sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars. 2 other people also face charges in connection with Kohut’s case….42 year-old local nurse Rashel Brandon of Watsonville, and 29 year-old Emily Joy Stephens of Pima Arizona (who is currently fighting her extradition to Santa Cruz).
