(18:51) MONTEREY- Monterey Peninsula water activists are attempting to get public takeover of Cal Am water on the 2018 ballot. The organization called Public Water Now is in the early stages of implementing the ballot measure promoting the public take over of the private Cal Am Water company which has been raising rates due to lack of revenue caused by water conservation. Other issues include discrepancies in the proposed desalination projects. There was a similar ballot measure attempt in 2014.
