Although Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, and Alameda counties have banned fracking, the Bureau Of Land Management is holding a hearing tomorrow in hopes of resuming the leasing of public land to oil companies. The B-L-M has not held an oil-lease sale in California since 2013, but there’s word that they want to auction off more than 700,000 acres of public land in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito, counties….as well as several other counties in Central California. Tomorrow’s hearing is scheduled to run from 4-6 p-m in Hollister, at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club.
