(13:10) SANTA CRUZ- A Santa Cruz home avoided being burglarized due to technology. Last week a resident was working in San Jose when he was alerted by his smart phone that someone had rung his doorbell. He then activated a video camera and speaker app that allowed him to confront the person who then fled the area. The would be burglar was apprehended a short time later after breaking into another home.
