(17:26) SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz will soon be implementing a solution to chronic flooding at the San Lorenzo River mouth. The city has secured a half million dollars in funding from the California Fish and Wildlife Department. Several times a year neighborhoods near the river mouth experience flooding. Construction is now set to begin on a pipeline to prevent summer time flooding. The 600 foot pipe is expected to permanently solve the issue while addressing environmental concerns about a protected species of fish.
