In an effort to make P.G. & E. Operate more efficiently, the company plans to eliminate approximately 450 “corporate support services” jobs, and 8 “executive” positions. Officials began notifying workers of the cutbacks today. Along with those lay-offs, P.G. & E. has also dismissed 800 contractors.
