2 men, who managed to mostly stay on their surfboards on Aptos Creek Sunday, were swept down the river and out to sea at Rio Del Mar Beach. They then managed to paddle their way back to shore. Locals, who were glad the duo made it back safely, remembered 21 year-old surfer (Edward Arko) who drowned while trying to surf Soquel Creek with friends in the storms of 1980.
