After a disappointing holiday shopping season, the owner of the Macy’s Department Store chain says they’ll be closing 68 of their 770 stores. The closures are expected to eliminate more than 10 thousand jobs. There are currently Macy’s stores in Capitola, Monterey and Salinas, but it’s unclear if any of those are on the chopping block.
