The Monterey Regional Airport’s board has decided to seriously look into the possibility of building a new terminal. To that end board members decided to move forward with an environmental impact study that’s expected to take 18-24 months to complete. Board members say the current terminal is beginning to show its age, and may not be able to continue to support the travel needs of the area. The site they are looking at for the new terminal is where the current long-term parking lot is located. The cost of a new terminal would be paid for from the airport’s own resources, not taxpayer money.
