WATSONVILLE – The teen, who was shot and killed Saturday, after he stabbed his father and uncle and threatened Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies, is believed to have been suffering from an adverse reaction to L-S-D at the time. Although deputies tried firing weighted foam rounds, and a taser, and deploying a k-9 officer, they ended up resorting to firing a single lethal round when 15 year-old Aptos High School student Luke Smith charged at them while brandishing the same knife he had already used to critically injure his family members. Therapists were on hand at the high school today. Four people have been arrested on suspicion they sold Smith the controlled substance.
