(17:27) SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz public work crews began draining Neary Lagoon yesterday (Thurs). The crews started emptying more than a million gallons of water in anticipation of forecasted wet weather. Pumps were used as well as a canal dug through the sand at Cowell Beach near the Santa Cruz Wharf.
