(12:15) SALINAS- A Salinas woman reported being attacked by a transient on Saturday. The incident took place shortly before 12:30 p.m. on the *00 block of North Maderia Avenue. The 40 year old victim told police she ahd found a pile of clothing on her car, she moved the clothes and left to run errands, upon her return she found 30 year old Annette Castillo agitated over the moving of the clothing. Castillo then attempted to attack the victim with a tree branch before fleeing the area. An officer recognized the suspect description as Castillo from a previous contact and check a nearby homeless encampment. The officer located Castillo who was subsequently identified by the victim. Castillo refused to make a statement. She was booked into County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, and probation violation.
