August 19, 2016: Full Containment Date for the Soberanes Fire is Pushed Back

(06:50)  Monterey – Yesterday (Thursday) Cal Fire pushed back their estimated date for full containment of the Soberanes Fire.  Initially full containment was expected for August 31.  The new date for full containment is September 30.  Cal fire says the delay in full containment is due to the decreased threat to homes and structures.  Most fire activity is currently burning in the rural Monterey County.  Cal fire reported this morning that fire has grown and is now 81,396 acres and is still 60 percent contained.  Evacuation orders remain in effect for coast Ridge Road from mile Marker 1.5 to Marble Peak at the end of the road.
