(11:31) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY –Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Santa Cruz County Main Jail Friday morning. Officials say 20-year-old Karma Mendenhall was working alongside a crew of inmates in the facility’s kitchen when he ran away. He was last seen running towards the levee behind the jail on Water Street. Mendenhall was serving time for misdemeanor offenses at Rountree Minimum Security Jail in Watsonville. He is white, 6-foot-1, and 155 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan sweater and green pants, both jail-issued.
