(07:18) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Santa Cruz County residents are invited to attend a meeting in Aptos Thursday night to discuss regulations on fireworks. Deputies have announced that they plan to increase patrols on the Fourth of July weekend, as well as levy $1,000 fines to individuals found in possession of fireworks. Fireworks are currently illegal countywide, with the exception of “safe and sane” fireworks within Watsonville city limits and on private property in Capitola. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Rio Sands Hotel on Aptos Beach Drive. (S.G.)
