(10:02) SAN BENITO COUNTY – In the race for the San Benito County Board of Supervisors, District 1, with over ¾ of precincts reporting, Mark Medina has taken the lead with 56% of the vote, while his opponent Mark Starritt garnered 43% of the vote. Both will proceed to the general election in November. In District 2, Anthony Botelho ran unopposed. Jamie Del La Cruz also ran unopposed in the race for District 5.
San Benito County voters also decided on one measure. Measure P, an initiative to raise funds for San Benito County transportation projects, needed 2/3 voter approval to pass. It has only been able to garner 58% approval. (S.G.)
