(07:58) CENTRAL COAST – Central Coast residents are invited to participate in a nationwide effort to feed families in need. The 24th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive will offer postal employees and residents the opportunity to join forces and help their local communities. Participating residents are being asked to collect and bag nonperishable food items, then place the bag by their mailbox. The bag will be picked up Saturday by a letter carrier and delivered to a local food bank or pantry. Last year’s drive collected over 70 million pounds of food, bringing the drive’s grand total to more than 1.4 billion pounds of food collected. (S.G.)
