(13:32) SACRAMENTO- The Daylight savings time shift one hour forward took place early yesterday (Sunday) morning. Studies say the loss of one hour of sleep can cause problems on roadways. The National Safety Council reports up to a 6 percent increase in crashes on Monday following the time shift. The CHP, says last year over 5,400 crashes were attributed sleepy drivers. The agency advises commuters to exercise extra caution for the first few weeks after the time change.
